As a part of its Sustainability plan, The Asset Group participated in the annual Business Clean Up Australia Day as a Business Supporter.

Clean Up Australia Day is the nation’s largest community-based environmental event, with AGS’s joining over 650,000 Australians taking a positive step to improve the environment. The 2021 event collected and removed an estimated 17,500 tonnes of rubbish from parks, beaches, bushland, suburban streets and waterways across Australia.

This year’s event had the Asset team collect rubbish that had washed up along the Georges River riverbank at East Hills Park. Our staff were surprised at the amount of garbage collected from the riverbank as at first glance, the park appears to be very clean.

The clean up showed us that much more work is still needed to be done, with plastics continuing to rise, which is why Asset will continue to look at ways in which we can further contribute to a more cleaner, sustainable future” Said Mr John Zeitoune, CEO.

AGS Staff learned about Australia’s waste challenge and how it continues to grow and how we can reduce, reuse and recycle to contribute to a more sustainable future. The Asset team looks forward to Stepping Up to Clean Up again soon.
